- World Health Organisation receives two types of funding primarily for its sustenance.The first one is Annual Assessed contributions by the contributing countries and the second one is voluntary contributions from Member states and other partners. The Annual assessed contributions comprise less than 20% of annual budget.Among the voluntary contributions, about 6% contributions are received via core voluntary contributions which are unconditional contributions. About 6% further contributions are received as thematic and strategic funds and required to meet reporting and accountability obligations. India and USA are among these contributors along with Germany, Korea, Japan, Norway among others.Specified voluntary contributions comprise up to 80% of funds received by WHO and these contributions are time limited and tied up to specific projects as well.
