Private health insurance premiums to rise by 3.73% from April

• Australian federal Minister for health, Mr Mark Butler made an announcement of rise in private health insurance premiums of unto 3.73% increase. This will affect nearly 17 Million Australians currently holding private health insurance. The premium rise changes will come into effect from 1 April, 2025.The major private insurers blamed the  rise in premium charges on increasing costs associated with delivering healthcare due to price rises in supply chains of healthcare products and consumables.Individual private health insurance companies can make their won decisions on the amount of premium rises to be allied to their respective customers and this rise can range from anywhere between two percent to six percent,  affecting customers differently based on their own private insurance provider.
