A significant communal dinner event brought together prominent figures, including Mr. Maha Sinnathamby, Founder of Greater Springfield city, and Brisbane's Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner, accompanied by his wife, Lady Mayoress Nina Schrinner. Queensland Senator Mr. Paul Scarr also attended the annual gathering.

Hosted by Professor Prasad Yarlagadda and Mrs. Ragmayi Yarlagadda, known for their dedication to community charity, the event featured insights into the growth and vision of Greater Springfield. Mr. Sinnathamby highlighted the city’s foundation in 1993, its current population of nearly 40,000, and its projected growth to 140,000 in the next 10–15 years.

He emphasized Health, Education, and Information Technology as the three pillars driving Springfield’s success, noting the currently operational Mater Springfield Hospital and the upcoming Mater Public Hospital.

Lord Mayor Schrinner acknowledged the valuable contributions of diverse communities to Brisbane’s appeal as a desirable place to live. Host Professor Yarlagadda spoke of the cultural similarities between Australia and India and shared his positive experiences since arriving in Australia. He also proposed establishing a second sister city arrangement with Andhra Pradesh, India, to enhance cultural and business ties.
